Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to support the payroll operations of a respected non-profit organization. This role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time and plays an important part in maintaining smooth HR and Finance functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, leave balances, and employee changes. Maintain and update employee information, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and payroll deductions.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and maintain organized payroll records.
  • Collaborate with Finance to correctly allocate payroll expenses to grants and programs and support audits as needed.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and guide them through timekeeping, deductions, and related processes.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably within a non-profit environment. Strong understanding of payroll regulations and processes.
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar.
